The Generic Family Tree

Jonathan Coxhead , 2002-01-07

Introduction

This is a ``prototype´´ family tree. Instead of the names of real people, each slot is filled by the name of the relationship that connects that slot to ``self.´´ This enables all the different varieties of cousins, 2nd cousins, ˝-cousins, and all the rest, to appear in their correct locations.

The family is rather unusual: both the father and the mother of ``self´´ remarried, so ``self´´ has stepsiblings and ˝-siblings on both sides.

There´s a separate explanation of the notation.
